About Us More About Us

What if the next global innovator is a young girl or boy in Nigeria
— but neither ever gets the chance to try?

I founded TekKurious because I saw brilliant young minds in my community with untapped potential and no access to the technology that changed my own life. From an early age, my father — who rose from incredibly difficult beginnings — chose to invest not just in my education, but in my curiosity for technology. He enrolled me in specialized coding camps and brought industry experts into our home to teach me programming, robotics, and more. Those investments didn’t just teach me how to code — they gave me purpose. They gave me direction when others didn’t understand my passion, and the focus to persevere through criticism and doubt. With that foundation, I went on to win national and international technology competitions. But as I grew, I couldn’t ignore a painful truth: many young people in my community could achieve even more than I have — if only they had the chance. That realization led me to create TekKurious — a name inspired by the curiosity that sparks a love for technology. I started by producing video tutorials based on the projects I built alongside my father, tutor, and cinematographers. As the youngest and only female on set, I became deeply aware of the systemic barriers — cultural, social, and economic — that prevent so many girls from accessing the same opportunities. So, I took the mission offline and into the real world. I launched my first in-person mentoring program at an under-resourced all-girls secondary school, offering tech workshops and donated robotics kits. Since then, my work has reached over 800 girls, and I’ve personally taught more than 30 of them how to build and program with Arduino. Many of them are now mentoring their peers, allowing the movement to grow even when I’m not physically present. Some people wait for opportunity. I chose to create it — for myself, and for the next generation.
